Melanie A. Tims has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1996. After graduating from the University of California, Davis, she completed a small animal internship at the Animal Specialty Group in San Diego, California. Animals have always been vital in her life. Her first exposure to veterinary medicine was watching Dr. John Enck care for her pony, and she has been grateful to have the mentorship of many outstanding individuals in her career. She enjoys helping patients in dermatology and with behavior, and appreciates the benefits that animals bring to all our lives.

Growing up in a military family meant lots of moves, but Dr. Tims is happy to put her roots down in North Carolina where she was born. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Greensboro with her daughter, and painting. Currently she has a very special cat, Pounce and two goldfish whose names are still secrets.
